There are 4 Standing Committees that help to facilitate forward movement in the Coalition: Outreach, Marketing/Promotions, Data/Information Collection, and Finances/Resources Collaboration.

Outreach activities can include:

• Event planning and targeting audiences (i.e.. Annual Town Hall Meetings)
• Developing a Speaker’s Bureau for Events Finding gaps in services/ resources for each community in order to fill that need.
• Ensuring that each person upon the developmental life span is afforded the same prevention efforts in order to have higher quality of life, free from problems associated with ATOD use.

Marketing activities can include:

• Promoting LiveWise ownership and sponsorship in community activities
• Preparing and keeping current business materials for promotional purposes (elevator speech, brochures, membership packets)
• Advertising for events

Data/ Information activities can include:

• Ensuring that LiveWise is engaging in best practices for community targeted substance abuse prevention.
• Researching and validating the survey tools used for ongoing program evaluation and assessing demographic needs.
• Being able to articulate effectiveness of programs and Coalition effectiveness by data collected.

Financial/ Resources activities can include:

• Identifying diverse streams of funding available to pursue for sustainability of LiveWise and subsequent members.
• Creating manners to more efficiently collaborate with community partners in order to jointly address mission statements.
• Assisting in grant writing process/ pooling together resources for applying for additional funding.

Other opportunities for engaging as a volunteer include: one time events, such as annual Town Hall meetings, (set up, clean up, displays, participants), referring agencies and organizations that would benefit from hearing about LiveWise through a presentation, sponsoring community activities and more.
