Region Prevention System Coordination Services
The Region Prevention System Coordination Services (RPSCS) is available to the public and provides educational resources on alcohol, tobacco, and other drug topics, as well as assistance in locating mental health, substance abuse treatment or addiction service providers within our communities. 

The mission of the RPSCS
is to build healthy communities by providing effective and efficient technical assistance and informational services of the highest quality for our partners in prevention.
 
Our goal is to reduce alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use by individuals of all ages by equipping them with knowledge and skills necessary to change individual and environmental conditions that lead to use.

What We Offer
 ■ Mental health and substance abuse treatment referrals by calling the The Spring Center at 402-546-0770.
 ■ Resource library contains over 1000 professional journal articles, booklets, brochures, and fact sheets on alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and other topics.  All resource library materials are in Adobe PDF format.
 ■ Technical support including training and assistance on proven prevention practices, models, and strategies.
 ■ Media literacy presentations and comprehensive planning services.
 ■ Local information on our partners in prevention, community coalitions, and prevention services.
 ■ Other services include: Speakers bureau, grant writing assistance, and coalition building.

Our Objectives
The assistance provided by the RPSCS supports change in the following objectives:
 ■ Reduced favorable attitudes toward drug use.
 ■ Reduced availability of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs to youth.
 ■ Reduced number of youth with low commitments to school.
 ■ Reduced number of youth displaying anti-social behaviors.
 ■ Reduced number of youth who fail to perceive drug use as harmful.
 ■ Reduced health disparities among racial and ethnic minorities.

Eligibility
The RPSCS provides services to Dodge, Douglas, Cass, Sarpy, and Washington county residents.  The RPSCS is open to the public 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday.  Please call the RPSCS Resource Coordinator at 402/546-1099 for an appointment.  There is no cost to utilize the RPSCS services.
